A Gold Star

On Feburary 28th in the evening, I had the honour of joining the nominees from the 2015 Gold Star Awards.

Hosted by the Gold Star Committee on behalf of Ft.McMurray Tourism, its the regions awards for customer service. Its a celebration if the hard work the regions people put in daily. From labourers, rental car agents, cooks, janitors, ski instructors, sales people, retail, transportation and so much more.

The scene was set this year as "be our guest", and at the Oil Sands Discovery Centre, one of my favourite places to visit. It was like walking into another world, the teams had brought together a magical scene. I was impressed. Very impressed.

Food, cameras, music, food, spritis, art, and more food. A collaboration of service providers hosting service providers in one of Canada's flavored economies. Folks from all walks of life, experience and cultural backgrounds, it was a great night.

Joining the nominees, the presenters and winners after the formal ceremonies was a blast. Photographs, more food and spirits, an amazing Sunday evening. Highlights of each of the nominees painted a clear picture of the successes and stories that must to be told in the RMWB, the province, the country.

But for now, the humbled winners bask in the glory, the lights and the success of working, living and playing in our home.

The Aurora!

Growing up in Northern Alberta, I have always seen the Aurora. Little did I know or fathom one day, I would host people from around the world, and get paid to view the Northern Lights.

In the past year and a half, my business partner and I have been building an Aurora experience un-heard of in Alberta. Our team of local, engaged, experienced guides and support offer the best Aurora experience in Canada.

Our collaboration with the right people, in the right place, at the right time = success. We have gathered Canada's brightest Aurora photogrpahers, award winning transportation specialists, Metis owners, and community support. All to work together, in community, in trust with each other to promote our region, the oilsands in a positive, diverse message.

We work, live and play in the Regional Municipality of Woodbuffalo. Our facilities along the shore of Willow Lake, near the Hamlet of Anzac host a growing number of visitors to the region.
